| Hours: Monday to Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM; Sunday 1 PM to 5 PM 2010 Exhibits The opening receptions are hosted on SmARTs Fridays, the second Friday of the first month of the show. January and February Painting Ladies What better locale for this exhibit than the picturesque Town of Smithfield, whose Historic District features colorful Victorian homes referred to as “The Painted Ladies”. This exhibit features Painting Ladies, women of the Tidewater area who paint, some professionally and some for pleasure. These women support one another by forming professional associations and informal painting groups. Featured artists include Nancy Midgette, Jean Ward Jordan, Joan Dinger, Cara Brinkley, Wilma Stallings. March and April Amanda Outcault and Friends Young, emerging artist with traditional styled paintings of women in everyday settings - with a whimsical element added. May and June Pottery by Bill Pinkam From the earth, yes, and paired with works that celebrate floral beauty. July and August The Isle of Wight Arts League Members Show Our member artists are showcased in our most popular annual show. September and October Warm up with Quilts Our visitors told us "Bring it back!". We listened. November and December The Resident Artist Show The Arts Center @319 Resident Artists Featured in 2009 Celebration of Isle of Wight and Smithfield We opened The Arts Center @319 with works that capture the beauty and charm of our County and Town. May 8 - June 30 Jewels for the Eyes As an affiliate exhibit of Art of Glass 2, we presented works of glass by local artists. July 10 - August 31 The Isle of Wight Arts League Members Show Our member artists are showcased in our most popular annual show. September 11 - October 30 Warm up with Quilts We reprised one of the most popular shows of 2008 November 13 - December 31 The Resident Artist Show The Arts Center @319 Resident Artists showed off what they created since moving into our new home in March. |
